Bus carrying Japanese tourists crashes in Turkey, leaving 6 people hospitalized

The Japanese Embassy in Turkey said six Japanese tourists were hospitalized with injuries after their bus was involved in an accident in western Turkey on Thursday.

The embassy said a bus carrying a group of 20 Japanese tourists overturned in Afyonkarahisar province on Thursday morning, local time, causing injuries.

The embassy says one of the tourists is in serious condition but is still conscious.

Turkish media images show a bus lying on the side of the road with ambulances and police cars responding to the accident.

The video also shows an ambulance arriving at a hospital and Japanese people exiting the vehicle. The video also shows one person with his right hand immobilized and another being carried on a stretcher.

One of the hospitals where some injured tourists were received told NHK that one passenger was seriously injured and was being treated.

Another hospital told NHK that it had received three Japanese tourists, but they apparently had no injuries.
