A clip from FX’s new show “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” is making the rounds on social media after a hilarious Robert Gronkowski impression.

In an interview with Kay Adams of the Op & Adams show, Gronk explained that the actor who plays him on the show, Laith Wallschleger, is an old friend.

“It was definitely over the top,” he said. “Want to know a fun fact about that clip? That’s my good friend Laith playing me there. I’ve known him for fourteen years and he absolutely went over the top, and I feel like it just fit the show. However perfect. Especially with all the other characters and Coach (Bill) Belichick and seeing Robert Kraft on the show as well. Like I said, exaggerated, a little exaggerated, that’s for sure, but it played a role in how this happened .show was produced.”

What?? 🤯 It turns out the actor is playing the role @RobGronkowski in FX’s “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” is Rob’s friend and acting double Laith. 😂

Gronkowski also said that Wallschleger has doubled for him in the past, such as in a commercial for FanDuel’s Kick of Destiny.

While Gronkowski’s impressions are pretty good, the legendary tight end pointed out a few differences.

“He’s smaller than me, though, and he’s definitely not as jacked as I am,” Gronkowski said. “But he’s doing well.”
