Official Mario Kart Switch racing wheel drops to new low price at Amazon

If you own the 63 million (and counting) copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – it’s the best-selling Switch game of all time by a wide margin – and want to enhance your racing experience, then the officially licensed Mario Kart racing wheels by Hori are on sale at Amazon ahead of Prime Big Deal Days. The Mario Kart Pro Mini racing wheel is available for $56.68 (down from $70), which is the lowest price we’ve seen on Amazon. The bigger Pro Deluxe racing wheel costs $89 (was $110).

If you need a copy of the game itself, you can buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $50 from Amazon. It’s also bundled with Nintendo’s 2024 Switch holiday bundles, which were just released this month. Amazon doesn’t have the bundles right now, but you can buy the Nintendo Switch OLED with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and three months of Switch Online for $349 at Walmart. The same bundle is available for the standard Switch console for $299.

But back to the racing wheels: the Pro Mini has a red and blue color scheme that matches Mario’s iconic outfit. The steering wheel has an ergonomic form factor based on real steering wheels. Face buttons, a D-pad and triggers (as buttons) are located on the front of the handlebars. The Pro Mini also comes with pedals for acceleration and braking. This compact Nintendo Switch racing wheel is great for younger members of the family or for anyone looking for a racing wheel that doesn’t break the bank.

Alternatively, there is the Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Deluxe. This has a darker red and black design and is noticeably larger than the Mini. Unsurprisingly, the Deluxe version has a premium feel and sturdier construction. While it retains the same general features, the ZL and ZR triggers are located where your hands naturally rest. The Deluxe comes with larger pedals and detachable paddles, which is a great addition for those who play other racing games where manual shifting is important.

If you buy a steering wheel purely for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then the Pro Mini is probably the better choice due to the large price difference at the moment. The Pro Deluxe has been marked down to around $70 in the past, but the Pro Mini routinely sells for almost full price.
