Los Angeles Lakers rookies Bronny James and Dalton Knecht made their preseason debuts against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday in Palm Desert’s Acrisure Arena in California.

James, the son of Lakers star LeBron James, was especially impressive on defense, such as when he got a block that ultimately led to his assist on a Rui Hachimura bucket.

The 19-year-old recorded two blocks and one assist in six minutes on the field in the first half.

Knecht looked good offensively, beating this mid-range jumper for his first two points. He finished the first half with six points, one steal and one block in six minutes.

It’s still very early, of course, but both rookies showed some good signs that got the fans excited.

If you still don’t see a pro in Bronny’s game, I just don’t know. Simple preseason highlight, but dating back to college…

The Lakers’ next preseason game is Sunday against the Phoenix Suns at 9:30 PM ET, capping off a two-game stretch at Acrisure Arena.
