NMB woman charged with tax evasion

On Friday, a North Myrtle Beach woman was arrested and charged for failing to file South Carolina Income Tax returns and tax evasion.

Jennifer Lyn Josey, 54, of North Myrtle Beach, is charged with six counts of failing to file state Income Tax returns and pay taxes; and one count of tax evasion.

According to arrest warrants, Josey evaded $9,470 in taxes and she owes $144,954.

Josey is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center facing a bond hearing. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of one year and/or a fine of $10,000 for each count of failing to file tax returns, and five years or a fine of $10,000 for the tax evasion charge.
