Super Bowl champion drops devastating take on NBA superstar Luka Doncic

Recently, Slovenian guard Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks lost to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. This prompted former Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy to label the Mavs player as the worst All-Star he has ever seen.

Despite Luka Doncic’s heroic efforts, the Dallas Mavericks were unable to overcome a 3-0 deficit against the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals. After avoiding a sweep with a Game 4 win at home, the Mavericks were thoroughly outmatched in the decisive Game 5, falling 106-88 on the road.

Doncic, the driving force behind the Mavericks’ playoff run, posted impressive averages of 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game in the series. In fact, he became the only player in NBA history to achieve these statistical benchmarks in a Finals series. However, the Slovenian superstar’s heroic efforts were not enough to topple the well-rounded Celtics squad, especially his lackluster efforts on the defensive end of the court.

While the Mavericks entered the NBA Finals as underdogs, many believed Doncic had the ability to confuse them. Unfortunately, the supporting cast failed to step up, with Kyrie Irving and the team’s role players struggling to make an impact on the suffocating Celtics defense.

After the game, several personalities gave their thoughts on Doncic’s performance in the NBA Finals. Among them was former NFL star and Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy, as seen in a video shared by Speak on X.

As it stands, the Mavericks’ offense focused primarily on Doncic and former NBA champion Kyrie Irving, making them easy for Boston to defend. On the other hand, the Celtics had more guys who could shoot the offense than Dallas.

Doncic is undoubtedly feeling the weight of the NBA Finals loss to Dallas. If taken correctly, he can use that as fuel to come back stronger the following season.
