The clothing brand Salt Life closes all stores after a bankruptcy auction

Dozens of Salt Life stores across the country are closing following the company’s recent purchase.

Hilco Consumer-Retail Group, one of the brand’s new owners, announced Tuesday that it will close all 28 store locations.

The liquidation is underway as the new owner plans to restructure the fashion company and devise a plan for the future of the brand.

Salt Life is a lifestyle, restaurant and apparel brand founded in 2003 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Hilco, along with Iconix International, jointly purchased the Salt Life clothing line after previous owner Delta Apparel Inc. filed for bankruptcy in June.
