Yankees’ Anthony Rizzo breaks two fingers; Could play in MLB playoffs despite injury | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

Anthony Rizzo’s health took a hit just before the start of postseason play.

Bryan Koch of MLB.com reported that the New York Yankees first baseman suffered two broken fingers on his right hand and that the team will figure out how to proceed with him over the course of the week.

Anthony Rizzo has two broken fingers (4th and 5th on the right hand). Aaron Boone said Ben Rice would be a consideration for the playoff roster.

“We’ll see what we have as the week goes on,” Boone said per Koch. ‘It doesn’t rule him out completely. It’s a matter of pain tolerance.’
