The first Minecraft movie clip shows how crafting works, and how it doesn’t

A new clip from the remarkable live-action Minecraft movie is here.

Courtesy of Minecraft Live, the clip is less than a minute long, but expands on the very first look at the live-action film we had earlier this month.

So far, the clip hasn’t been formally uploaded to YouTube, but you can see it at the 34:30 mark in the Minecraft Live video embedded below, or in the X/Twitter post just below that.

The clip features Steve (Jack Black) demonstrating exactly how his crafting table works.

While the sword Black Craft makes looks pretty cool to me, Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa) tries to make something even more impressive… with less successful results.

We also got to see our first Bee in the live-action movie, which is honestly too cute not to share.

“Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity not only helps you create, but is essential to your survival,” reads the official blurb.

Four misfits – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) – are struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly drawn in through a mysterious portal. the Overworld: a bizarre, cube-shaped wonderland that thrives on the imagination.

“To get back home, they must master this world (as well as protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies) as they embark on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert tinkerer, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five of them to be brave and reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills they need to thrive again in the real world.”

The Minecraft movie is currently set to hit theaters on April 4. To learn more about how the film was made, including the set design, skip to 30:21 in the embedded video above.
