Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson missed last weekend’s match against Bournemouth.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been in top form for the Reds this season, keeping three clean sheets in five games this season.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirmed before the match that his first-choice goalkeeper is struggling with injuries and that Caoimhin Kelleher will be his replacement.

Kelleher kept a clean sheet against Bournemouth, showing once again why he is one of the best reserve goalkeepers in the world.

He made a number of fine saves against Bournemouth at Anfield to ensure his team kept another clean sheet.

The Reds have kept four clean sheets in five league games this season, with the only goal conceded against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Alisson has posted a disturbing update on his injury by posting a photo on his Instagram account.

The goalkeeper posted a photo of himself sitting in front of the television with a medical device attached to his legs.

The device is mainly used to circulate blood in the muscles, which can help athletes recover faster from injuries.

It should be a major source of concern for fans, who have received no update from the club on the severity of Alisson’s injury.

Despite having a worthy second keeper in Kelleher, they still want their first keeper to return quickly and take his place in the starting line-up.

Liverpool are in action in the League Cup this week

The Reds take on Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Kelleher will start again for the Premier League giants, which would have been the case had Alisson been fit.

Slot is fortunate to have two great goalkeepers in his squad, with Kelleher even good enough to start for most Premier League teams.
