Homeworld 3 has revised its content plans and will now merge all of the first year’s content ‘into one’

Homeworld 3 has revised its content plans, with all remaining paid DLC and free content now offered uniformly.

In an update on the official website, developer Blackbird Interactive said it will be “consolidating the content into one place so we can focus all of our resources and provide a higher quality experience for all of you.”

“This change means we’ll be releasing two content packs in November that were originally planned for 2025. The goal is to deliver the most complete Homeworld 3 experience and many of the changes you requested sooner,” the team said.

“In total, you can look forward to three (3) free updates and two (2) paid DLCs of content launching as one major update in November.”

After assuring players that it had “listened intently to the feedback you’ve shared over the past few months,” the team attempted to allay players’ fears with the Year One Pass.

“With the changes we’re making, we want to assure those of you who purchased the Year One Pass that you’re getting everything we’ve previously promised. Additionally, we’ve adjusted our plans to include some community-requested elements,” the team added.

“We thank you for your patience as we work to deliver our post-launch vision for Homeworld 3 in November,” the team concludes. “There are many more elements to come beyond what we’ve unpacked above, including new gameplay mechanics, optimizations to existing features, as well as bug fixes and performance improvements.”

“25 years after the original Homeworld, and 22 years after the (weaker) second main game, Homeworld 3 fails to meet the high standards to surpass its predecessors and become the new best Homeworld,” wrote Will in Eurogamer’s Homeworld 3 review, in which he gave the game three out of five stars.
