The Golden Bachelorette premieres its first episode today, September 18 at 8:00pm ET/PT on ABCThe first episode will be two hours long. All episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the day after they air live.

Who is Joan Vassos?

You may recognize Joan from her appearance on Gerry’s season of The Golden Bachelor last year. She had to leave after the first few episodes to be with her daughter, who had just had a baby. Now she’s returning as the Golden Bachelorette, and everyone is getting a closer look at the life she’s led so far.

Vassos was previously married to her husband John for 32 years, who passed away in 2021 after a battle with cancer. She is the mother of four and grandmother of three. At 61, Joan still works as a private school administrator in Rockville, Maryland.
