Trump and Second Gentleman to visit Tucson on Thursday

Former President Donald Trump will be in Tucson on Thursday to “deliver speeches about our struggling economy and the rising cost of housing,” according to a press release. Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff is also visiting Tucson that day. Their visits will come days after the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump.

The former president was last in Tucson in October 2020, but last month he was in Cochise County to tour the border and discuss immigration policy.

Emhoff’s visit is part of the Harris-Walz campaign’s New Way Forward battleground tour, campaign officials said. The tour is intended to “mobilize support, build enthusiasm and reach the voters who will decide this election as we enter the final weeks of the campaign.”

This is Emhoff’s first visit to Tucson during this election campaign.
