PS5 Pro preorders go live on September 26

The PS5 Pro is real, and it’s coming. As Sony revealed during a livestream on Tuesday morning, the PS5 Pro will offer a horsepower boost over the current PS5 and PS5 Slim models, making it possible to play PS5 games — and even some PS4 titles — in 4K resolution at 60 fps. In other words, the PS5 Pro could be able to play games with the visual fidelity of fidelity mode and the smoothness of performance mode. The enhanced console is set to launch on November 7 for $700 — $200 more than the PS5 Slim ($500) and $250 more than the PS5 Slim Digital ($450).

The PS5 Pro is a digital console, but it does support the $80 disc drive attachment that PlayStation released last year. If you prefer to store your consoles upright, you’ll need to purchase the optional $30 Vertical Stand, which will set you back $820 plus local sales tax. That’s a hefty price for a mid-generation hardware update, but if you’ve noticed the visual upgrades, the PS5 is available to pre-order on September 26.
