Club are confident Newcastle will sell them a class player this week

Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier has an uncertain future at the club.

The England defender has entered the final year of his contract with the club and the Magpies may be interested in selling him.

Although the Premier League transfer window has already closed, there is still a chance to sell him to the Turkish league, where the transfer window will run until Friday.

According to Fotomac, via Sport Witness, Besiktas are interested in signing the Newcastle United defender this week.

They don’t have long to go, as the transfer window closes on September 13.

Trippier has been stripped of his starting place at Newcastle after manager Eddie Howe preferred Tino Livramento for all three Premier League games this season.

The defender has indicated he wants to leave the club and the Magpies are aware of his intentions.

There is still no talk of a transfer for the former Atlético Madrid defender, but it could all happen in the coming days.

The Magpies have been linked with a move for Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries, suggesting the Premier League club are looking to strengthen their right-back position in the near future as they prepare for life without Trippier.

Trippier is past his prime and at 33 he can no longer play regularly at St James’ Park.

A move away from Newcastle would be good for his career and this would be the right time for the club to get some money for him as he will be a free agent next summer.
