Dave Chisnall wins Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp

Englishman Dave Chisnall secured his second European Tour title of 2024 with victory in the inaugural Flanders Darts Trophy.

The 43-year-old, affectionately known as ‘Chizzy’, defeated German Ricardo Pietreczko 8-6 in the final in Antwerp to take home the top prize of £30,000.

World number seven Chisnall, who won the European Darts Open in June, defeated Chris Dobey in the last 16 after a quarter-final victory over Peter Wright.

His final opponent, nicknamed Pikachu, defeated world champion Luke Humphries 7-4 to reach the final.

It is Chisnall’s eighth title on the European Tour, placing him in joint third place with Gerwyn Price, behind only Michael van Gerwen and Wright.

Teenager Luke Littler, chasing a third European triumph in a fantastic year, suffered a surprise defeat in the last 16.

The 17-year-old achieved the highest Belgian average of 111.13 on Saturday when he defeated Jermaine Wattimena in the second round, but was defeated 6-2 by Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode a day later.
