The release of SirDavis marks Beyoncé’s foray into the spirits market. The whiskey was developed in partnership with Moët Hennessy and is named after her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who was a moonshiner during Prohibition. “I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when I drink quality whiskey and I wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” Beyoncé said. “When I discovered my great-grandfather was a moonshiner, I felt like my love for whiskey was meant to be. SirDavis is a way for me to honor him and unite us through a new shared legacy.”

SirDavis is crafted, blended and bottled in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, making it Moët Hennessy’s first American-developed spirits brand. Each bottle retails for $89 and is available in stores and online worldwide. The packaging, featuring a rearing horse, nods to Beyoncé’s recent turn to country music and ties into the theme of her latest album, Cowboy driver.
