Pirates of the Caribbean star Tamayo Perry found dead from shark bites after fatal ‘attack’

Tamayo Perry, a surfer who starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has sadly died after being found with shark bites after surfing in Hawaii

Tamayo Perry has died from a possible shark attack after going surfing in Hawaii.

The surfer, who starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, was found with several shark bites. He was surfing at Goat Island, also known as Mokuauia, near Laie, Hawaii, before he was found dead at 1 p.m. Sunday, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services announced.




Tamayo was surfing during a break from lifeguard duties. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Tamayo was confirmed as the victim by officials after his next of kin were notified.

Officials said Star Advertiser Tamayo was taken to shore by lifeguards via jet ski. Emergency services believe the actor may have suffered more than one shark bite.

His family has requested privacy at this time. The public has also been warned to stay out of the water, with shark warning signs in the area.

Acting Ocean Safety Chief Kurt Lager released a statement after his death, saying, “Tamayo Perry was a universally beloved lifeguard, well known on the North Shore, a professional surfer known around the world.”
