Game Pass Removals of September 2024 Include Several Notable Games

Half a dozen games are set to leave the oven known as Xbox Game Pass later this month. Microsoft has revealed that six titles will leave the subscription service on September 15, with Payday 3 and FIFA 23 leading the way.

The soccer game symbolizes the end of an era, as FIFA 23 is the last game in the series to bear the name. Now, the franchise has been rebranded as EA Sports FC. Last year’s game, EA Sports FC 24, will still be available on Game Pass after FIFA 23 retires later this month.

Payday 3 meanwhile had an infamous launch about a year ago with serious server issues and other design problems that resulted in Payday 2 remaining the far more popular game. The rollout was so poor that Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjogren was replaced. For more, check out GameSpot’s Payday 3 review.

These two games are leaving Game Pass along with four others: Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, Slime Rancher 2, SpiderHeck, and You Suck at Parking. Don’t forget, Game Pass subscribers can purchase all of these titles for 20% off until they leave mid-September.

As is customary, Microsoft will also be adding new titles to the subscription service. Star Trucker arrives today as a day-one release for the service, for example. Ages of Mythology: Retold joins Game Pass tomorrow, September 4, followed by Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, Riders Republic and Train Sim World 5 this month. Further additions – and removals – to Game Pass will likely be announced later this month.
