After being a major presence in the stands last season, Taylor Swift may be ready to play a bigger role for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.

In an interview with NBC Sports’ Chris Simms (starts at 22:45), Patrick Mahomes joked that Swift’s interest in football has grown so much that she’s “started making up rules of the game” that the Chiefs might have to implement at some point.

Swift does have a knack for immersing herself in projects. She has begun directing many of her own music videos and has acted in various roles in films and television.

Now that Swift has watched a full season of live NFL games, the logical next step would be for her to pitch some ideas to Kansas City’s coaching staff.

There may not be a head coach in the league more willing to solicit outside ideas than Andy Reid. The 66-year-old has said the “coolest play” he ever called in the NFL was given to him by a janitor when he was an assistant with the Green Bay Packers.

Reid also called a play from Michigan’s 49-0 victory over USC in the 1948 Rose Bowl during the Chiefs’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54. The play occurred in the first quarter with four players lined up in the backfield on fourth-and-1 who began taking spins before the snap went directly to running back Damien Williams.

Williams picked up four yards, setting up Mahomes’ one-yard rushing touchdown two plays later.

If Swift gets her game on early in the season, don’t be surprised if Reid has her wear a headset and give her feedback later in the year.
