Diablo 4 developers finally add more character slots and an extra stash tab

Blizzard seems to have finally heard the signal Diablo4 the community, as players will receive two additional character slots and an additional stash tab as part of the Vessel of Hatred expansion.

Speaking with Devil content creator Rob2628 during Gamescom last week, Vessel of Hatred developers Tiffany K. Wat and Rex Dickson hinted at a few quality of life improvements coming their way Diablo 4’s Season 6 Update. The most important ones are of course the extra character slots and stash tabs.

Diablo4 launched with 10 character slots and increased the number to 12 with the Season 2 update. But as the ARPG community has said time and again, it wasn’t nearly enough, especially considering that Softcore and Hardcore characters shared the same pool of 12.

While it is another welcome step to increase the number of character slots by two, we must also consider that Ship of hate will introduce a new character class—the Spiritborn—into the fray. So, there’s not much room for the basic classes if you’re a seasoned Diablo4 player who wants to experiment with different builds.

The additional stash tab, along similar lines, will now allow players to have a maximum of five stash tabs. Again, though, players will likely find it to be an inadequate solution, especially considering all the new items and other collectibles that come with Ship of hate.

The developers have promised to reveal more about what will happen with the expansion in the next game. Diablo4 Campfire Talk, scheduled for later today, August 29.

Diablo4 Season 6 next to the Ship of hate expansion launches on October 8th. Check out our countdown so you know exactly how much longer we have to wait.
