Guilty Gear Strive Switch Edition appears to have leaked thanks to a banner spotted at PAX West

It looks like Guilty Gear Strive is getting a long-awaited release on Nintendo Switch, at least if a large banner hanging at PAX West in Seattle today is anything to go by.

In a now-deleted tweet posted to X/Twitter and archived to Reddit yesterday, a huge banner above the entrance to a convention lobby advertises Guilty Gear Strive, featuring a Nintendo Switch logo and the text “Nintendo Switch Edition” and “Pre-order now” in the left corner with a QR code. While Arc System Works has yet to confirm the accuracy of this, it’s hard to imagine a giant banner like this being placed outside of an actual announcement – with PAX West starting on Friday, we’re likely to see it soon.

The banner doesn’t list a release date, but it’s possible the Switch version of the game will be demoed during the event.

Guilty Gear Strive is a beloved community classic that first launched in 2021 for PlayStation and PC, and has since made its way to arcades and PC. The original Guilty Gear, released in 1998, has been available on Switch since 2019, but Guilty Gear Xrd never made it to console.

The biggest question now is how well Strive will run on Switch, given the console’s questionable history with fighting game ports and how many other fighting games have skipped it altogether. Hopefully Arc System Works has found a way to do Guilty Gear Strive – a game we gave a 9/10 upon release – justice.
