Chelsea set to make first offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen

According to Italian outlet Di Marzio, Chelsea will soon make an initial offer for Victor Osimhen.

The Blues are likely to be one of the busiest clubs in the final days of the transfer window as they search for a new striker and potentially offload seven players.

The Stamford Bridge club are looking for competition for Nicolas Jackson and despite signing youngster Marc Guiu they want to add an established number nine to their ranks.

Chelsea make first offer for Osimhen

Chelea has had close ties with Osimhen all summer, but it is a difficult deal to negotiate.

It is thought that the Blues are only looking for a loan move, but that will not suit Osimhen. There are also issues over his wages, with the 25-year-old reportedly unwilling to lower his demands.

Osimhen has reached an agreement with Paris Saint Germain, but they could not agree on a transfer fee with Napoli. At this point, it is thought that they will no longer be in the race for the Nigerian title.

The battle for Osimhen seems to be between Chelsea and Al-Ahli.

Fabrizio Romano added that Chelsea and Al-Ahli are the only clubs negotiating for the striker and Di Marzio has given a major update stating that the Blues will make their first offer to both Osimhen’s agent and Napoli in the coming hours.

It seems Osimhen has the following options: stay at Napoli and see if there is a way to return under Antonio Conte, or move to Chelsea or the Saudi Pro League.

Chelsea have made it clear they want to complete the deal on their own terms and there may come a time when Osimhen has to compromise on his salary in order to complete a move to west London.

To further complicate matters, the Blues have shown interest in Ivan Toney. However, no official bid has been made for the England international, who has reportedly agreed personal terms with Al-Ahli.

The clock is ticking until Friday’s deadline, but all parties won’t have to wait long for a possible outcome. It will be fascinating to see how this story plays out.
