Cristiano Ronaldo: Portuguese star says Al Nassr ‘probably’ his last club

The former Real Madrid and Juventus striker has scored 898 goals in his career, 130 of which came for Portugal, and is keen to add to that tally by confirming his intention to continue his international career.

“If I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance. It will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well-considered decision,” he added.

“Right now I mainly want to help the national team in the upcoming matches.

“We have the Nations League coming up and I really want to play.”

Portugal hosts Croatia on September 5 and Scotland three days later, before visiting Poland on October 12 and Scotland on October 15.

Ronaldo, who says the thought of becoming a manager after retirement “doesn’t even cross his mind”, will also receive a special award from UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin in honour of his achievements in the Champions League.

With 140 goals in 183 games, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner is the competition’s all-time top scorer, 11 goals more than Lionel Messi and 46 goals more than Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski in third place.

He also won the Champions League five times, once with Manchester United and four times with Real Madrid.
