Nole returned to the Covid pandemic, a period in which he was excluded from the Australian Open due to the lack of vaccination and was in the center of the media storm several times. A very difficult period for the Serbian champion, because, as he himself explained, everyone saw him as the bad guy.

“During that period I was the bad guy of the world, I felt like everyone was against me“I’d played with fans against me before, but I’d never felt like the whole world was against me. I had an exemption for the trip to Australia, but in the end it didn’t work out as planned, people called me anti-vax, but that wasn’t the case. I was just for freedom of choice,” he added.
