Fan favorite Boban Marjanovic has played the past two seasons in Houston, but is still a free agent looking for a team for next season.

Marjanovic, who was in Slovenia to participate Goran Dragic’s farewell match last weekendstill waiting for that contract for next season, but he’s not worried about it, he said Milun Nesovic from Meridian Sport (tip of the hat (Eurohoops).

“Every time you make plans, it doesn’t work out. Plans always change. Here I wanted to come by plane, but we came by car. I don’t have any plans. I enjoy every part of life. I’m waiting for the NBA, but if it doesn’t come, a lot is on paper. But let’s move on.”

Marjanovic, 36, has bounced around the NBA as a reserve center, playing for the Pistons, Clippers, Sixers and Mavericks before the Rockets. He played just 14 games last season for Houston as an end-of-the-bench big. But he’s popular in locker rooms, with fans, and knows how to be a pro and provide quality minutes when his number is called, and at 7’4″ he can block a few shots and protect the rim when called upon.

After exploring their options in training camp, it’s possible a team will decide they need some depth at center and Marjanovic will call. He’s not stressed about it, though, and knows he can always get a contract in Europe, but he’s waiting for the NBA to come along and see what happens.
