Major AEW star admits he struggles with promos – TJR Wrestling

A major AEW star wants to improve his promos.

Since moving to the United States to join AEW, Will Ospreay has been open about living with autism, dyslexia and ADHD, including needing someone to read his AEW contract to him before he could sign it.

Ospreay has received much praise for his openness and has become a role model for children with learning disabilities around the world.

During a new interview with the New York Post, Ospreay admitted he still struggles with promos, something he didn’t have to deal with regularly in Japan.

“I still have a lot of trouble with it,

“I can barely speak English,” Ospreay said. “It’s been a learning experience, but I feel like I’m not bad at it. I think I’m doing okay. I think I’m making it. I think it’s good to show people that I’m learning these tricks and these crafts.

I’m glad I can be vulnerable and open in those moments and say, ‘Look, I know I’m not the best at this.’ I was never trained to do this. I was never trained to do this part of the job. They throw me in the deep end and I somehow swim.”

Nigel McGuinness also gave his opinion on Ospreay, praising him for his approach to promos and how he stays authentic and genuine. The wrestler-turned-commentator then compared Ospreay to Bryan Danielson.

Will Ospreay comments on AEW controversy

During the same interview, Will Ospreay gave his opinion on the backstage altercation between Britt Baker, MJF and Alicia Atout.

He admitted he did not know exactly what had been reported, but said the incident had been greatly exaggerated.

Britt Baker was recently fined and suspended after the incident in which she allegedly vented her frustration with MJF. It was later reported that Baker called Atout — MJF’s partner, a “dumb f*cking b*tch” — and slammed a frustrated MJF against the wall.
