The world of One piece is filled with legendary fights, but not all of them are shown on screen. Some of the most intriguing and impactful fights are mentioned in passing or shown incompletely, leaving us fans wondering what really happened during those moments.

To make matters worse, some of these events have literally taken part of the One piece fresh, making it even more frustrating not knowing just how epic the fights have become. That said, here are ten offscreen fights that will make every One piece fan would love to see come to life.

Akainu vs. Aokiji

Imagine two admirals facing off for ten days, with an entire island caught in the crossfire. That’s exactly what happened when Akainu and Aokiji clashed with Punk Hazard in their battle for the position of fleet admiral. The fight was so intense that the island was literally split in two, fiery and frozen. We know that Aokiji walked away without a leg and Akainu with serious injuries, but it would be something else to see these two superpowers push each other to the limit.

Ace vs. Blackbeard

The duel between Portgas D. Ace and Marshall D. Teach is one of the most pivotal confrontations in the series. This battle, which took place on Banaro Island, led to Ace’s capture and ultimately set the stage for the Marineford War. We’ve seen glimpses of their fight, with the clash between Ace’s Flame Flame Fruit and Blackbeard’s Dark-Dark Fruit being fierce and devastating. However, the full extent of how Blackbeard managed to defeat Ace, and the desperation and determination that drove both men, remains largely unexplored.

Furthermore, Blackbeard and his crew are known to use cunning tricks to achieve their goals. It would certainly be interesting to know whether Blackbeard defeated Ace single-handedly or whether his crew gave him a helping hand.

Shanks vs. Kaido

It is no exaggeration to say that the Marineford War is one of the most epic battles in the world. One pieceand perhaps in anime history. The clash between Whitebeard Pirates and their allies against the World Government shook the entire world. However, it could have been even crazier if another emperor—Kaido, King of the Beasts—had joined the fight. It didn’t happen just because Shanks stopped Kaido from interfering.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about this battle. Despite the two emperors reportedly battling it out during the war, Shanks and his crew still managed to reach Marineford to put an end to the battle after Whitebeard’s death. Furthermore, Shanks and his crew did not appear to have suffered any damage, which makes us wonder what actually happened during their battle.

Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp vs. the Rocks Pirates

The Rocks Pirates, led by Rocks D. Xebec, were one of the strongest pirate crews in the series. After all, the crew consisted of the young Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, Shiki, and many other future influential pirates. In a way, they also embodied piracy in the truest sense of the word. They wanted to rule the world and sought fame for their own selfish goals. Their downfall came during the God Valley Incident, where they tried to target the World Nobles and their treasures. This led to Roger, and then Garp, going to the island, which resulted in Roger and Garp defeating the Rocks Pirates.

Apart from Sengoku’s account of the events, very little is known about the incident. Besides the battle, there were other notable events: Ivankov and Kuma escaped slavery, and Linlin was given Kaido’s Devil Fruit.

Shanks vs Mihawk

Shanks and Mihawk were rival swordsmen who fought on equal terms. Before Shanks lost his arm, it was said that the duels between him and Mihawk shook the Grand Line. These fights are legendary, often mentioned but never fully shown. With Mihawk being the best swordsman in the world and Shanks being one of the four emperors, their duels must have been epic. Hopefully we get to see at least one of their many matches soon.

Blackbeard Pirates vs. Remnants of Whitebeard Pirates

Whitebeard’s death officially marked the end of an era. Given how the former emperor met his end, it is no surprise that the remnants of his crew, whom he called children, sought revenge on the Blackbeard Pirates. After all, Blackbeard and his minions not only murdered Whitebeard in cold blood, but their captain also defiled his fresh corpse and stole his Devil Fruit. The battle took place a year after the Marineford War, with Marco leading the troops. As everyone knows, the remaining Whitebeard Pirates lost and eventually disbanded.

Shanks vs. Blackbeard

Blackbeard has always been an inconspicuous character, scheming evil deeds in the background. However, he has long since proven how dangerous he is as a character. The three claw scars on Shanks’ eye are evidence of this. According to the Emperor, Blackbeard gave him the scar and not through his carelessness. Granted, it is not known exactly when the two fought, but it would still be intriguing to see Blackbeard wound the younger Shanks in a fair fight.

Gol D. Roger vs. Monkey D. Garp

Like Shanks and Mihawk, Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp were long-time rivals. The two had numerous fights, with the latter constantly chasing the former. However, the two developed trust and respect for each other over the years, with Roger even entrusting his son Ace to Garp. However, none of their fights have been shown. Considering that they are also the strongest of their generation, it is certainly safe to assume that their matches were a sight to behold.

Gecko Moriah from One Piece

Gekko Moria vs Kaido

Gecko Moria is perhaps one of the scariest characters in the series, but he wasn’t always that way. In his prime, he had a crew made up of humans. However, he suffered a defeat at the hands of Kaido, which resulted in a drastic change in his personality. Their battle resulted in the annihilation of Moria’s crew, though Moria did manage to steal Ryuma’s corpse. Moria then lost faith in living allies and began amassing an army of the undead. Given the change in Moria’s personality, it would certainly be intriguing to see how Kaido would take him down.

Blackbeard Pirates vs. the Revolutionary Army

Jesus Burgess, a top commander in Blackbeard’s crew, is the first to discover the Revolutionary Army headquarters after following Sabo to Baltigo. He gathered the rest of his pirate crew and destroyed the place. The aftermath of this battle left Baltigo in ruins, but the details of the battle remain largely unknown. The news only reported that the Blackbeard pirates had already destroyed the Revolutionary Army compound by the time the government arrived.

Since the Revolutionary Army is the main force opposing the World Government, the Blackbeard Pirates certainly could not have defeated them outright. Still, it would have been interesting to see how the pirates accomplished such a feat.
