“It was a tough match. But not only tough, the match was also exciting because there was a fantastic atmosphere the whole match. The conditions were definitely difficult because it was sunny and then rainy. We played during the day and basically finished in the evening session, but these things apply to both of us of course. I am happy with my performance and with this victory.

It’s nice to be in the final. I had different feelings during the match, I know I have to improve because I had too many ups and downs in the race but against opponents of this level it is normal. However, it must also be said that he served with great quality.

This victory after the period I have been through means a lot to me. I am happy with this result, regardless of how the tournament ends. I am improving physically, I am trying to be strong mentally, let’s see how the final goes tomorrow. I play a lot of matches before the US Open and these matches are very important. It is a tough tournament, but I am happy with what I did on court. I hope to play good tennis tomorrow in the final as well,” he explained.
