Flag footballer Darrell Doucette is not prepared to simply give up his Olympic spot to NFL players in the 2028 Summer GamesThe quarterback let the world know what he thought of the situation this weekend.

Doucette criticized the idea that these professional stars are entitled to a spot on the roster solely because of their name and popularity.

The NFL has encouraged its players to make an effort to play sports in Los Angeles, now that flag football has been added to the list of sports that will feature in the 2028 Olympic Games.

The league recently shared a video of quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing a flaming football through a flare, adding to speculation about an NFL participation in the upcoming Summer Games.

The video immediately drew widespread criticism, and Doucette was one of the loudest critics.

He is not happy with the insinuation that professional stars will be given priority at the ’28 Olympics. He says they don’t deserve it!

“I think it’s disrespectful that they automatically assume that they can make the Olympic team because of who they are. They didn’t help grow this sport to get to the Olympics,” Doucette said. The guard“Give the guys who helped this sport get to where it is today their respect.”

“We just don’t think they can walk out on the field and make the Olympic team because of the name, right?” he continued. “They still have to go out there and compete.”

The guard wrote that Darrell Doucette saw Jalen Hurts’ video as a clear “threat to his job” that he won’t give up without a fight!

Most assume that the Olympic roster will be filled with NFL players if they ultimately decide to join forces and form an American Dream Team. After all, they are the best in the world!

Doucette isn’t ready to give them that crown yet. He’ll try to beat Hurts and other pro passers who stand in the way of the Olympic journey.
