Watch Maggie Rogers Sing a Karaoke Cover of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ on Adele World

Maggie Rogers performed a cover of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ for unsuspecting concertgoers at Adele’s Munich residency last night. Check it out below.

Rogers is in Munich tonight (August 17) to open for Coldplay on their ‘Music Of The Spheres’ tour, which was announced today as the most successful rock tour of all time.

Before taking to the stage with the British pop icons, she paid a visit to Adele’s ongoing residency in Munich. The ‘Rolling In The Deep’ singer is currently midway through a 10-date tour at the purpose-built 80,000-capacity Messe München arena, which will see her stage her first mainland European gigs since 2016.

The arena, dubbed ‘Adele World’, features a karaoke stage after the show, where fans are encouraged to get up and sing covers of classic pop songs. Last night (August 16), Rogers took the opportunity to perform her version of Bedingfield’s 2004 hit, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.

The ‘Alaska’ singer shared a fan video to her Instagram Story today, captioning it, “@maggierogers shuts down @adele’s midnight karaoke stage by singing ‘Unwritten’ while everyone thinks she’s just a random person in the audience.”

Rogers released her third studio album ‘Don’t Forget Me’ earlier this year, which received a rave review of four stars from NMEThe review praised the album’s title track as “a moment of vulnerability from Rogers that reveals her desire to be remembered with the same importance – and one that assures she will be.”

In other Adele news, the singer recently praised Chappell Roan, calling the rising singer “absolutely amazing.” “She’s spectacular and it turns out she doesn’t just have one song,” she said. “She has, like, seven fucking brilliant songs.”

Adele has four dates left on her current Munich residency (23, 24, 30, 31 August). She recently revealed that she has “no plans for new music at all” and will be taking a “big break” from music after these shows are done.

She has since confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul live on stage. Earlier this month, Adele performed her 2008 single ‘Chasing Pavements’ for the first time in seven years. In another performance, she paused her set to stream the semi-final and final of the Olympic women’s 100m races.
