5:00 PM CDT Radar Update: New Flash Flood Warning issued for Henry County; other warnings remain in effect: The Alabama Weather Blog

A new flash flood warning has been issued for Central Henry County, Alabama.

Here is the information from the National Weather Service:

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a warning

* Flash flood warning for…
Central Henry County in southeastern Alabama…

* Until 8pm CDT.

* At 4:49 p.m. CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms were present
heavy rainfall in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is occurring or expected to occur
soon.

DANGER…Flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and rivers, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as
other areas with poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations where flash flooding may occur include:
Abbeville, Fort Gaines, Newville, Haleburg, Willis Crossroads,
Municipal A/P of Abbeville, Hardwickburg, Graball, Murphy Station,
Shorterville, Screamer, Barnes, Lawrenceville, Dancey, Miller,
Capps, Hayes, Balkum, Scottsboro Crossroads and Walter F. George
Lock and dam.

Flash flood warnings remain in place for Dale, Chambers and Lee Counties. Stay tuned for updates.
