$5 Million Winning Lottery Ticket Sold at Temecula ARCO

TEMECULA, CA — A $5 million lottery ticket was recently sold in Temecula and the holder has come forward.

However, lottery officials have announced that another winning ticket worth $2,151,945 sold in the Coachella Valley will expire soon if the holder does not come forward.

John Green was the lucky owner of the $5 million Scratchers ticket sold at an ARCO station at 40212 Winchester Road, the California Lottery announced Aug. 23. The station is located at the corner of Winchester and Nicolas Roads, across from Chaparral High School in Temecula.

There is no information available about when the ticket was sold or what Green plans to spend his winnings on.

Other recent winners of the big Scratchers announced on August 23 were:

  • Monica Mazariegos won $2 million with an Instant Prize Crossword ticket from Code 66 Smoke Shop in Fullerton.
  • Mamikon Zakaryan also won $2 million on an Instant Prize Crossword Scratcher from Dales Jr. Liquors in Hollywood.
  • Jose Lopez won $2 million playing an Instant Prize Crossword ticket from T Mart in Castroville.
  • Foad Ishak won $2 million with an Instant Prize Crossword ticket from Copper Lamp Liquor in Monrovia.
  • Aurelio Chayrez won a $1 million prize with an Ice Cool Scratchers ticket from Chevron on South Tracy Boulevard in Tracy.
  • Salvador Zarate also won a $1 million prize with a $1 Million Ultimate Cash! Scratchers ticket that came from the Quick Stop in Freedom.

Meanwhile, California lottery officials announced Tuesday that an unclaimed Mega Millions ticket sold earlier this year in the Coachella Valley will expire on Sept. 1 if the winner does not come forward.

The ticket is worth $2,151,945.

It was sold at Stater Bros. at 69255 Ramon Road in Cathedral City. The ticket sold for the March 5 Mega Millions drawing had the numbers 2, 49, 50, 61 and 70, but was missing the Mega number 14.

Another winning ticket worth $2,462,356 is set to expire soon. The lucky Powerball ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven at 12500 Roscoe Boulevard in Sun Valley for the March 23 drawing and had the numbers 6, 23, 25, 34 and 51, but was missing the Powerball number 3.
