229 young athletes take part in the Olympic Day Run

The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) organized the Olympic Day Run 2024 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The event saw an overwhelming participation of 229 enthusiastic young athletes between the ages of 6 and 12.

Under the inspiring theme of ‘Let’s Move & Celebration’, the Olympic Day Run aimed to promote the Olympic values ​​of friendship, excellence and respect, while encouraging physical activity and healthy living.

“The event was a testament to our continued commitment to promoting sport and fitness within our community. It was heartwarming to witness the incredible enthusiasm and dedication of all participants, who showed remarkable sportsmanship and determination,” NOA said in an update.

Young athletes showed their talents in different age categories in the 50 meter, 80 meter and 100 meter races.

NOA said the turnout reflected the growing enthusiasm and passion for sports in Nagaland. “The Nagaland Olympic Association is happy to witness such active participation from the community. The event brought athletes, families and sports enthusiasts together and fostered a sense of camaraderie and celebration,” the report said.

“This year the participants were not only smarter but also more active, showing that our young athletes are beginning to adapt to the rigors and joys of sport.
