The Paris 2024 Olympics continued on Thursday, with Simone Biles and Suni Lee winning the gold and bronze medals respectively in the women’s individual all-around event. Biles became only the third woman after Larisa Latynina in 1956 and 1960, and Věra Čáslavská in 1964 and 1968, to win the women’s individual all-around twice.

In the pool, American Kate Douglass won gold in the 200-meter breaststroke, setting an American record. Canada’s Summer McIntosh won gold in the 200 butterfly, while Team USA’s Regan Smith won silver. And Australia easily defeated the second-place Americans in the 4×200 relay — though Katie Ledecky’s silver medal made her the most decorated U.S. Olympian ever.

Elsewhere in Paris, more history was made: the U.S. fencing team defeated Italy 45-39 in nine relay rounds to win the gold medal in the team foil event. It was the first time the United States had won gold in a team fencing event.

Below you can see the status of the medals prior to the competition on Friday, August 2.
