2024 AC Golf Classic Raises New Record of $525,000 – Indianapolis News | Weather Indiana | Indiana traffic

CARMEL, IN (WISH) — For the second year in a row, the AC Golf Classic set a new record in money raised for Teachers’ Treasures with $525,000.

In the ten years that the AC Golf Classic has raised money for Teachers’ Treasures, more than $3 million has been raised.

Stars from Indiana’s sports landscape and beyond headed to Woodland Country Club for the event and had wonderful things to say.

“Three million dollars, I mean, that’s a lot of money,” Tamika Catchings said. “And to raise it, not for yourself and not for your own organization, but for another great organization in town, AC and what he’s passionate about, where he’s willing to give his time and his efforts and his treasure , I mean, this It’s great to be here.”

“What he (Anthony Calhoun) is doing for Teachers’ Treasures is phenomenal,” Indiana men’s basketball head coach Mike Woodson said. “I mean, listen, we’re turning our kids over to teachers. They need to be paid huge amounts of money. I say that all day, every day because they are raising our children. What better way to reward people and AC does a great job.”

“He’s all about service, leadership and giving back, and what he does for these teachers and what he does for inner-city kids here in Central Indiana, it’s just amazing.” said former Colts head coach and WISH_TV Countdown to Kickoff analyst Chuck Pagano.

“I’m honored to be here,” Sage Steele said. “What he did here is insane.”

Teachers’ Treasures is a nonprofit organization that provides school supplies for teachers’ classrooms. Their mission statement is: “Teachers’ Treasures ensures teachers, educators and students have access to free, essential tools for success in the classroom.”

Team Bright Sheet Metal Co. Inc. won the event with a score of 57 (15 under par). Former Purdue basketball player Ryan Cline was the celebrity who worked with the group.
