17 goals and 9 assists last season: Liverpool are eyeing a striker worth £75 million

Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes.

According to reports via Paisley Gates, Liverpool are keen to sign the Brazilian international striker and value him at around £75 million.

Rodrygo has established himself as a key player for Real Madrid and his performances have caught the attention of the Premier League side. Liverpool could certainly use a quality striker like him and the Brazilian could be an exciting alternative to Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan striker is unable to score goals consistently, and he was also not a regular starter under Arne Slot. If Liverpool look to replace him in the coming months, Rodrygo would be the ideal signing. He has proven quality at the highest level and he could transform Liverpool’s attack.

Can Liverpool convince Rodrygo to join?

However, it can be difficult to convince the player to join the club. Real Madrid is widely regarded as the greatest club in the world and has a proven track record of winning major trophies every year. The Brazilian has no reason to insist on leaving the Spanish club.

Even though Liverpool have an exciting project at their disposal, it could be difficult to convince the forward to join the club.

Moreover, the asking price also seems quite high. There is no doubt that Rodrygo is a world-class talent with a bright future, and he could well justify the investment in the long term. But Liverpool also need to improve the other parts of the squad and they may not be able to spend £75 million on a striker.

The 23-year-old scored 17 goals and had nine assists in all competitions last season. He could add a new dimension to the Liverpool attack if he joins the club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in his Real Madrid teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.
