13-year-old charged in La Crosse shooting

Reports of gunfire in La Crosse this month have led to at least one arrest.

On Thursday, police said a 13-year-old was taken into custody after allegedly firing a gun in the 500 block of Hood Street, near Gundersen, on Monday. The suspect faces two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of possession of a weapon by a minor.

Police have been alerted to repeated claims of gunfire in the city in June, but the incidents have not yet resulted in criminal court hearings.

Anyone with information about shots fired in the city recently is asked to contact La Crosse police at 608-782-7575. They can also submit an anonymous tip to the Crime-Stoppers line.
