11-year-old dies in Sulfur side-by-side crash

SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) – An 11-year-old boy died Monday, Oct. 14, after a side-by-side crash in Sulfur.

Officers responded to a call in the 900 block of Armentor Road around 11 a.m. and learned that two juveniles were driving a Polaris RZR when it overturned, said Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent.

The 11-year-old passenger was partially ejected from the side-by-side during the crash.

Officers performed life-saving measures on the child at home before taking him to a local hospital.

The child later died in hospital.

The other juvenile was not injured in the accident.

According to Vincent, the investigation is still ongoing, but the death appears to be an accident and no foul play is suspected.
